Display

Game Shift Technology

Dell G15 5515 has a unique feature that maximizes fan speed when you need dynamic performance during gaming to keep your system cool. You can activate this setting by pressing the FN+G key.

Camera and Speakers

Moving onto the top bezel, there is a 1280 x 720 (HD) webcam operating at 30 fps. The digital-array microphones are located in the HD RGB camera assembly to let you connect over video calls.

As for sound, you get two down-firing stereo speakers with Realtek ALC3254.

Build and Design

The laptop has an unusual colour, Phantom Grey. The speckles on the body give a granite effect. You can feel the same granite finish on the palm rest as well. Also, the outer chassis doesn’t catch fingerprints and remains stain-free. The chassis is made out of solid plastic with a Dell logo in the centre. It weighs around 2.57 kg.

You get a G-series, full layout, and backlit keyboard. The backlit feature has a two-level brightness setting, dim and bright. Above the keyboard, there is another cold air intake vent running parallel.

The copper piping in the thermal system of this machine dissipates heat via 4 large exhaust vents.

Ports and Slots

Moving on to the ports, on the left-hand side there is a folding Ethernet port, a headset combo port, and a little hard drive led light. Similarly, on the right-hand side, there are two USB 2.0 ports and a G logo symbolizing the G-series. The air vents are located on both sides of the device and also on the base.

Now, unlike most laptops, you have ports and slots at the rear end as well including a USB-C port, a USB 3.2 port, HDMI port, and on the farthest end there is a power port.
